Apologies for the lack of posts, silly things like 'work' and 'socialising' are getting in the way of important things like Shed Time. Nonetheless, I sneaked a few hours the weekend before last, and painted some things brown.
First on the agenda were the bowmen, who now sport basecoats of skin and leather (scorched brown, a colour which goes under most things it seems...) All of them are going to be white, but I might try to get variations of skin tone, and not use the same browns on all of them.
Still not sure about the trousers. They don't really have any raised bits for highlights. |
Horsies coming along nicely. 5 minutes of internet research reveals that mane, tail and fetlocks are often the same colour as coat, which makes painting simpler. I can also announce the problem with piebald horse: I painted it brown with grey splodges, but the splodges should have been cream. See below for fix.
Note beautiful home-made base. |
I have also started on the leather tack on the more complete horses. Nothing on the chieftain's horse, as I'm awaiting black ink to finish the job. This will be bought after Christmas, along with dark, base shades of Blue, Red, Green and Yellow paint. No more mixing black to get a darker shade, oh no!
Note arrow hole drilled in the neck of the left pony, in my early years anatomy took second place to 'kool battl damag' |
Finally, sick of all this brown boredom, I decided to paint something fun, Dazzle Tank! sadly, this also came out dull, looking something like future urban camo in a first person shooter. To rectify this, the brown areas will be highlighted green, the grey bits pink, and the black areas blue.
Still awaits more splodges. |
I can't promise any timely updates before Christmas, but there will be a 'look what I got' update on the 25th OR boxing day.
